Welcome

POSITIVE RESULT FOR THE FIRST GEOTHERMAL DAYS

The first Geothermal Days, in December last year, attracted over 1,200 visitors and conférence attendees. This year we welcome you to the Centre des Congrès de la Cité des Sciences de la Villette.

For this year's event, the AFPG and the organisers would like to open the Exhibition and the Conferences to a wider public. Two conference programmes will be running in parallel, one to show professionals what is new in the field and the other to demystify the technology for potential users of geothermal energy and show them how it operates. This specific programme aimed at project contractors, local authorities and project managers will give a very clear explanation of the obstacles to overcome and mistakes to avoid when implementing a successful geothermal project.

This programme is repeated over the 2 days and will include calls for evidence from contractors of example installations. Current research and technological developments will also be covered in more academic sessions open to students, researchers and industry managers.

This annual event will be preceded by a half-day tour of géothermal sites up and running in the north of Paris. Tours will also be organised on site, as the Cité des Sciences operates an office heating system using geothermal wells, which will enable participants to appreciate how this type of installation can be implemented in an urban environment.

The space available will enable us to invite a larger number of companies working in the field and the technical workshops will facilitate during the exhibition itself.
We very much hope the Geothermal Days will become the French counterpart of benchmark events in Germany.

The AFPG will be publishing for the event an overview of the geothermal energy market in France and its perspectives.

We look forward to seeing you at this major event in French geothermal energy production.

Christian Boissavy
President of the AFPG
